Detailed Itinerary
Follow our day-by-day roadmap of experiences, specifically designed to connect you with nature and community.
Bigodi Swamp Walk, Banana Man Experience & Cultural Dances
Meet and greet your local guide from Isunga Cultural Community Tours and transfer to Bigodi near Kibale National Park. Drive through Kibale forest—a evergreen tropical rainforest home to 13 primate species, 370+ bird species, and diverse wildlife. If lucky, you'll spot chimpanzees on the forest edge!
On arrival, embark on the guided Bigodi Swamp Walk. This rich wetland is run by the local community and boasts incredible biodiversity (monkeys, birds, butterflies). Learn about traditional medicinal plants and conservation along the way.
Next, participate in the Banana Man experience. Learn the cultural significance of bananas, see how local gin is distilled, and taste traditional banana juice, beer, and gin. In the evening, enjoy vibrant traditional dances and conservation-themed songs performed by community groups.
Top of the World Hike, Homemade Coffee Experience & Vanilla Tour
After breakfast, head for the famous Top of the World hike around the crater lakes region. The hill stands at 1,645m above sea level, rewarding you with breathtaking panoramic views of three stunning crater lakes (Nyabikere, Nyinabulitwa, and Nyamirima), rolling tea plantations, and local villages.
During the hike, visit local community homes for a homemade coffee experience. Engage in the traditional process of coffee-making from scratch—drying, roasting, grinding in a wooden mortar, and tasting fresh, organic coffee brewed by the community.
Conclude the afternoon with an educational vanilla tour. Discover how vanilla is hand-pollinated, grown, harvested, and cured, gaining insight into one of Uganda's most valuable commercial cash crops.
Amabere Caves, Nyakasura Waterfalls & Kyeganywa Hill Hike
After breakfast, visit the historical Amabere Ga' Nyinamwiru caves and Nyakasura waterfalls. This beautiful geographical site is rich in local legends connected to the ancient Bachwezi dynasty. Take a guided walk around stalactites and stalagmites rocks, pristine waterfalls, and forest paths.
Proceed to hike Kyeganywa hill, which offers sweeping views of three crater lakes (Kigere, Wabikere, and Saaka), Fort Portal town, and the majestic Rwenzori mountain ranges on a clear day.
Afterward, you can participate in an optional activity based on your schedule, such as exploring local markets, visiting the historic Tooro Kingdom Palace, local farms, or peaceful botanical gardens before departure.
